Not a separate planet

Beginners sometimes hear that crypto “ignores macro.” In many periods, major crypto assets have moved more like high-beta risk cousins—sensitive to liquidity, rates expectations, and risk-on/off mood—than like a sealed digital island.

That is a tendency for learning, not a law, and not a timing rule. Broad risk framing: Risk assets 101.

Liquidity and risk mood

When financial conditions ease and risk appetite firms, speculative corners of markets often get more attention. When liquidity feels scarce or credit spreads widen, high-beta corners often feel it early.

Connect the dots with:

Stablecoins (light vocabulary)

Stablecoins are crypto tokens designed to track a reference value (often a fiat currency) for payments and trading rails inside crypto markets. For macro learners, the useful idea is: they are part of the plumbing and dollar-linked activity story—not a recommendation to hold any ticker, and not a claim that all stablecoins are identical or risk-free.

What this page will never do

  • Name coins, tickers, or “top setups”
  • Say “buy the dip” or “rotate into crypto when the Fed cuts”
  • Treat any on-chain metric as a Macro Simplified signal
